Why Community Impact Program?

At Konnect, we believe in fostering real change within the communities we serve. Through our community Impact program, we aim to empower individuals, improve lives, and make better leaders for tomorrow.

1. Digital Literacy Program

Our Digital Literacy Program helps young learners in underserved communities gain important IT and programming skills. They start with basic computer training, and once they master it, they move on to programming classes.

The program serves over twenty kids aged 4 to 18, with two-hour classes held every Saturday at 4 PM in Kibera. Those still learning basic skills continue until they’re ready for the next level. Despite challenges, this initiative empowers the next generation to thrive in the digital economy. We are grateful to the volunteers who dedicate their time to teaching these children.

2. Tuition Program

The tuition program is for educating young children about subjects like science, mathematics, English and more. Our volunteers from abroad teach them online and it happens on Saturdays too at 4 PM for two hours in our Zimmerman hub.

The kids are given homework to test their understanding and when they attend their next class, they go through it together with the teacher. The tuition program is simply designed to improve the intelligence of kids offering academic support to students.

3. Beyond Limits

The Konnect Beyond Limit Scholarship helps families afford high school for their kids.

We care about education and want to support our community. Many families struggle with the costs of sending their children to school, so we offer this scholarship to lighten that load.

It’s a way to invest in bright students and give them the chance to achieve their dreams through quality education and become better leaders for tomorrow.

4. Kibera Soweto Corridor Solar Lighting

In partnership with the Livelihood Impact Fund (LIF), we are addressing safety and accessibility concerns in Kibera through the Soweto Corridor Solar Lighting project. This initiative will bring sustainable, solar-powered lights to the community, lighting up poorly lit corridors and improving the safety of residents. By working together with the community, we aim to ensure the sustainability of this project.

At Konnect, we are committed to transforming lives through targeted programs that address pressing social issues.

Whether it’s improving digital literacy, ensuring access to better infrastructure, or lighting up communities, the Konnect community program is paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.
