A Partnership with Bayobab to Connect Communities
But first, who is Bayobab?
Bayobab is a next-generation services company connecting Africa with digital solutions. Additionally, Bayobab believes Africa has a lot of potential and everyone deserves the benefit of a modern connected life. Because of this goal, they launched The Mbuyu Connector campaign in May 2024 to search for an Internet Service Provider to connect additional 135 households. Various ISPs sent their amazing proposals and Konnect internet emerged as the winner with the most compelling proposal. Therefore, Konnect was awarded Ksh. 1 million and we partnered with Bayobab to connect communities.
What Next After Winning?Ahadi Wireless got to work! Ahadi Wireless (Konnect) got to work! Driven by unwavering passion for our vision, we surpassed the initial goal of connecting 135 households.
Thanks to this partnership, over 400 households were connected in Bukhungu area of Kibra slums in Nairobi and that is a success to celebrate. Bayobab’s Mbuyu Connector and Konnect both aim to deliver affordable internet to underserved communities, making this partnership a perfect fit. This milestone marks a significant step towards digital inclusion and improving lives in underserved communities.

Through access to affordable internet, residents in Bukhungu now have greater opportunities for education, economic growth, and community development.
